2023 June e-Newsletter

It’s JUNE – the final month of North York District 23’s 2022-2023 calendar!! This marks the end of another fantastic year of organized activities, trips and special events and the halfway point in the celebrations for our 50th Anniversary.

On Thursday, May 11, our District held the Annual Meeting (AM) at the Thornhill Golf and Country Club.  Members in new positions on our Executive for the coming year:

Sara DiNallo will return to the role to serve as our President for 2023-2024;
Sylvia Skippen will move into the role of the First Vice President
but there is a vacancy for the position of Second Vice President.
Maureen Capotosto moves into the position of the Past President — thank you for another excellent year as our District President.
Sandra Filicetti will take on the role as Secretary,
Maria Fernandes will become the Goodwill Convener and
Jane Matthews will be the new Editor/Graphic Designer of STONY Bridges.   Anne Marum and John Giannone have decided to continue in their roles on the Executive to start the next term.   More information will follow in our summer edition of STONY Bridges.

There is a slightly reduced number of activities this month as the year draws to a close, but we encourage you to join us and bid farewell to friends and colleagues for the summer.  Those events that will continue are listed below with the specific details.  This month also marks, for those residing in the City of Toronto, a mayoral by-election on Monday, June 26th. Your City ~ Your Vote!

A huge THANK YOU goes out to all of our Conveners for their leadership, guidance and enthusiasm in organizing events and opportunities this past year.  It has been a most successful year!

On behalf of the District 23 Executive, we wish you all a wonderful summer with family and friends, whether you are sweltering in the city, travelling to new destinations, or relaxing by one of our many lakes, bays or rivers.  On July 1st, we hope you find some local celebrations, wherever you are, to celebrate Canada’s Birthday.  We have much to be thankful for in our glorious country.

The next issue of STONY Bridges will be published in late early August by our new Editor, Jane Matthews. As always, please note that STONY Bridges provides full details for all District 23 events and the registration forms to participate.  If you do not have your current issue handy, it can be located online at our District 23 website at:
