“The beautiful spring came: and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.”

Harriet Ann Jacobs

April showers have brought May flowers. My neighbourhood was spectacular this past week with magnolia trees in full bloom. Gardens have brightly coloured flowers poking through the soil and in planters. The cherry blossom trees in High Park have amazed huge crowds over the past week even though the area has been closed to vehicular traffic. Similar numbers of visitors travelled to several locations around the GTA to view this spring tradition.

Sporting events continue to ‘entertain/panic/excite’ Toronto’s fans….Good luck to the Blue Jays who are playing Los Angeles, the new team of Shohei Ohtani (😉) this weekend, and to the Toronto Maple Leafs who are down 3-1 in their first-round series with the Boston Bruins.

Enjoy what should be a warmer month of May and take some time to explore the great outdoors! There is much to celebrate in May with Mother’s Day, and a long weekend. Perhaps it is time to head to cottage country and prepare your summer abodes. We will host our Annual Meeting in the coming weeks on Thursday, June 6th (see new information below). There are new events planned for the final two months of our year. Most of our activities are outlined below: registration forms can be found in your Spring edition of STONY Bridges or on our District 23 website: district23.rtoero.ca

We hope you can join us!

ERRATA: the e-Newsletter inadvertently states that the Annual Meeting and Spring Luncheon are on Thursday, May 30th in the preamble. It is actually on Thursday, June 6th – the deadline for registrations is May 30th.
