Birds in Spring

Spring is just around the corner as we begin the month of March, although we don’t know if the weather will arrive like a lion or a lamb! Since our last communications, we have witnessed a few days of full wintry temperatures and snow in the city. We’ve also had a great deal of balmy weather and glimpses of sun and blue sky. This year, the Vernal Equinox Time occurs at 5:24 PM on Monday, March 20, and Spring begins. I look forward to welcoming the season of new beginnings!

As I write this E-Newsletter today, STONY Bridges is ready to go to print and should be arriving in your home via Canada Post over the next two weeks. As you may already be aware, we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of District 23 with the RTOERO organization. STONY Bridges is chock full of information about how we would like to celebrate this achievement with you ~ our members. Information will also be available on our District website along with all of the necessary registration forms for events, great trips, webinars and culinary feasts. Events will be briefly outlined in the monthly newsletters, but can be found 24/7 at:
https://district23.rtoero.ca/

In STONY Bridges, several members contributed some amazing articles: poetry, reviews, travelogues. The magazine is filled with the many activities and special activities scheduled from now until June as well as special events announced for the fall.

We saw the Blue Jays season begin this weekend. March will bring St.. Patrick Day’s celebrations, the Raptors and Maple Leafs seeking a favourable playoff berth, the return of the F1 racing season and the aforementioned arrival of Spring There will be the annual March Break to spur one final trip possibly to the ski hills or a warm, sunny resort. There is much to look forward to in the coming months and we hope you can join us in the celebrations.
