March 2024 e-Newsletter and Update

Jan 02, 2024

Spring is just around the corner as we begin March, although we don’t know if the weather will arrive like a lion or a lamb! Since our last communications, we have witnessed a few days of sub-zero wintry temperatures and a day of snowfall in the city. We’ve also had a great deal of balmy weather and glimpses of sun and blue sky. This year, the Vernal Equinox Time occurs at 11:06 PM on Tuesday, March 19 and Spring begins. I look forward to welcoming the season of new beginnings!

As I write this E-Newsletter today, STONY Bridges is ready to go to print and should be arriving in your home via Canada Post over the next two weeks. STONY Bridges is chock full of information and focuses around the theme of Healing. Information will also be available on our District website along with all of the necessary registration forms for events, great trips, webinars and upcoming gatherings. Our first Speakers’ Series of the year will be coming in April as well, so register early. Events will be briefly outlined in the monthly newsletters, but can be found 24/7 at:

This past weekend we saw the Blue Jays season begin with Spring Training. March will bring St.Patrick Day’s celebrations, the Raptors and Maple Leafs seeking favourable playoff berths, the return of the F1 racing season, Easter and the aforementioned arrival of Spring. There will be the annual March Break to spur one final trip possibly to the ski hills or perhaps a warm, sunny resort. On March 10, at the beginning of the school break, we can cast our ballots on the Annual Oscars party which will begin at an earlier time of 7:00 p.m.

Daylight Savings Time (DST) will also start at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024 and will be in place until the second Sunday in November.

There is much to look forward to in the coming months and we hope you can join us in the celebrations.
