The long-anticipated launch of our new website took place today. We have moved from our dated DRUPAL 7 technology to the state-of-the-art WordPress platform.

What does this mean for us?

• A shiny new District website with lots of glitz, glamour and the new RTOERO branding with its bold, vibrant colours that we have become familiar with at the parent RTOERO website and publications for over a year.
• A new URL for the website, but the existing URL should automatically redirect us to the new website – the new URL is https://district23.rtoero.ca
• A website that is accessible i.e., compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).

Interac e-Transfers and online credit/debit card payments are a boon for many of us. While we are ready to offer this functionality for event registration and payment, our conveners decided that it would be too-fast-too-soon. So, bear with us for a bit longer and let our President ([email protected]) know if you would like this as an option for future events. As previously noted, such an option would avoid having to rummage around the house for your lost cheque book (Does anyone still use cheques?) and a postage stamp. If your financial institution charges you for e-Transfers, it’s time for a friendly call to your bank manager. DON’T PANIC! We will continue to provide the option to cut up STONY (ouch!) for the form, fill it out, find an envelope, and post it with a cheque to the respective convener. And pray that it gets there before the event is SOLD OUT.

We no longer have the CONTACT Us form – you can now email any member of the Executive through the corresponding link on the About page. The form to GO GREEN with STONY and Renaissance no longer exists. To change your preferences regarding receiving printed copies of STONY Bridges, click on the link Set Marketing Preferences at the bottom of any eBlast from District 23, then uncheck – District Newsletter Print Version.

Whatever you do, please DO NOT UNCHECK “District Newsletter Email” – if you do so, you will be cast adrift and no longer receive any further emails from District 23 North York. If you wish to discontinue receiving printed copies of Renaissance, please contact [email protected].

Our goal for the new District website will continue to be a one-stop GO-TO place for all information related to RTOERO District 23 North York. We will not duplicate information available on the parent RTOERO website but will make navigation a seamless experience for you.

Since Vern Paige’s e-Devices group has been so successful, we plan to post his slide decks, meeting notes, resources, and video recordings on the website so that those who miss a meeting can still access them, and those who are memory challenged like me can easily retrieve tidbits that elude us.

We shall keep you informed on our progress on the website through the website, Twitter, Facebook, and e-Newsletter.
